We are often told that if you can't pronounce an ingredient then you shouldn't be eating it! And there are plenty of processed protein bars on the market that fall into this category that you might want to avoid.

If you'd like to control what goes into your snack bars, then get in the kitchen and start moving.

The first revelation is that you don't need protein powder to make protein bars or protein balls! Nuts and seeds are the answer!

Essential ingredients -
  • Rolled oats
  • Honey
  • Peanut butter
With these three ingredients you have slow-release carbohydrates, a natural sugar boost, and protein. What you add from here is down to you! Here are some ideas -
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Desiccated coconut
  • Dark chocolate chips
  • Mashed dates
  • Crushed walnuts
  • Raisins
  • Cashew butter
  • Poppy seeds
